The History of the Hotel

The small, and classicist Maltański Hotel belongs to a Manor Complex. In the old days, it housed stables, and coach houses. From late 19th century it housed guest apartments. For ages, the premises belonged to the most eminent Polish aristocratic families, namely the Lubomirski, Potocki, Zamojski, and Tarnowski.

Right after the Second World War, landowners deprived of their property, found shelter here. Today the name Maltański [in Polish meaning: of the Order of Malta] reminds us of its highborn owners who had close links to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. The Hotel has only worthy neighbors: the Philharmonic, and the Bishop’s Palace. Right beside, is also the oldest high school in the city: the Bartłomiej Nowodworski High School. The beautiful Kraków sights, such as the Wawel Castle, the Main Market Square, the Cloth Hall, and many more, are also nearby.

The location of the hotel, which makes a good impression as soon as you enter it, is marvelous. The hotel is very well equipped, and beautifully furnished, makes you feel at home. Another reason for feeling at home is the tasty cuisine. Moreover, the comfortable beds, the access to the patio, and the fact that the place is quiet, make our stay a great one each time. We recommend the venue.

It is a manor house with a unique atmosphere, lost in the heart of Kraków. The place is amazing! In the evening, when sitting on the tiny ivy-covered patio, you find it hard to believe you are in the center of Kraków . The access to the hotel is easy, and the car park- convenient. The rooms are spacious, and nicely furnished. The breakfasts are good, and beautifully served. The location is the best imaginable! The Hotel is a 5-minute walk away from the Cloth Hall. The ladies at the reception desk are extremely kind, and helpful to the guests, which is an additional bonus. We are sure to go back there next time we are in Krakow.

A calm, quiet place in the heart of Kraków. Very helpful staff. Especially for us the breakfast was served after the marathon had ended, that is, far after breakfast time. Moreover, the breakfast was not limited to a cold buffet, easy to store in the fridge. We were also served a hot meal, prepared right before serving.

In the evening, we met a very nice, lively, optimistic, and smiling young person at the reception desk. Meeting such a happy person makes life worth living !

The breakfasts are varied, you cannot complain. The dining room is clean .The hotel is cozy, and quiet, located near the Old Town. The Planty Gardens are across the street. Big thumbs up for accepting our Yorkie! You have to pay for the hotel car park. The staff are very nice.
